Location Services - Allow access
Play Golf is the first screen you’ll see after downloading Hole19, creating your account, and signing in. Before starting your first round, it’s important to make sure Hole19 has permission to access your location.
When prompted, tap Take me to Settings, then go to Hole19 > Location and select Always.
Note: Choosing Always does not mean Hole19 is constantly tracking you. It allows the app to access your location while you’re using it, including when your phone is locked or the screen turns off. This ensures that GPS distances remain accurate and up to date throughout your round, without interruptions caused by the lock screen. Without this setting enabled, GPS accuracy may be affected, especially when the app is running in the background during play.
Find golf courses
When you open the Hole19 app, it automatically suggests the nearest golf course, allowing you to get started quickly.
To explore more options, tap Search All Courses. From there, you’ll find two main tabs:
Courses – Search for a specific golf course by name.
Locations – Browse golf courses by city, region, or country.
Once you’ve found the course you want to play, tap Play Golf to open the Round Settings screen. Fill in the requested details, then tap Create Round and then Start Round to begin your game.
Playing golf offline
After previewing or playing a course, it will be saved to your Synced list, allowing you to access and play the course offline. To view your Synced courses, go to the Play Golf tab and tap the flag icon in the top-right corner.
To ensure you have access to the course map while playing offline while you’re connected to the internet (ideally at home before heading to the course), search for the course you’re going to play and press Preview. This will download the course map to your device. You can close the app afterwards.
Map Icon
By tapping the Map button at the bottom of the screen, you can navigate through the map and discover all available golf courses in the area. This is also a great way to quickly check course ratings before choosing where to play.
Course ratings are submitted by the Hole19 community, based on real playing experiences.
