Performance Trends - Track Your Improvement Over Time

The Performance section is your hub for tracking how your game evolves over time. From handicap trends to club-level stats, it pulls everything together so you always know where you're improving - and where to focus next.

This feature is available on the Intelligence plan.

To access it, tap Performance in the bottom navigation bar of the Hole19 app.

Game Breakdown

Game Breakdown gives you a detailed look at four key areas of your game. Tap it from the Performance screen, then use the tabs at the top to switch between areas.

Tee Shots

Tracks your Fairways Hit percentage and average fairways per round. A semicircle chart shows where your misses go - left, right, or other. Your overall average is compared to your HCP Benchmark (the typical rate for a golfer at your handicap level) and your most recent round.

Approach

Tracks your Greens in Regulation (GIR) percentage and GIR per round. Also shows a Strokes Gained: Approach value indicating how your iron play compares to golfers at your handicap level.

Short Game

Tracks your Up & Down percentage, plus Scrambling and Sand Save rates. All three are shown as bar charts so you can see which parts of your short game are strongest.

Putting

Tracks your average Putts per Hole and total Putts per Round. Shows separate values for all holes and for holes where you hit the green in regulation (GIR) - useful for separating putting quality from approach quality.

Every Game Breakdown tab includes a trend chart (Rounds, Months, or Years) and a comparison to your HCP Benchmark and Last Round result.

Handicap

The Handicap card on the Performance home screen shows your current Handicap Index and your average Score Differential across your last 10 rounds. Tap it to open the full Handicap view.

Inside, you'll find a Score Differential chart viewable by Rounds, Months, or Years. The chart plots three lines: your Score Differential per round, a Rolling Average, and your Handicap Index - making it easy to see at a glance whether your handicap is trending up or down.

Score Differential measures how well you played a single round relative to the course rating and slope. Your Handicap Index is calculated from the average of your best Score Differentials.

Scoring

The Scoring card shows your average score To Par. Tap it to see the full breakdown, including:

  • A To Par trend chart (by Rounds, Months, or Years) with a Rolling Average and your overall Average Score as reference lines.
  • A Scoring Distribution showing the percentage of each result type - Eagles, Birdies, Pars, Bogeys, and Double Bogeys - across all your rounds.
  • A Scores by Par breakdown comparing your average on Par 3s, Par 4s, and Par 5s.

Strokes Gained

Strokes Gained measures how each part of your game compares to a typical golfer at your handicap level, from the same distances and lies. A positive number means you're gaining strokes in that area; a negative number means you're losing them.

Your shots are grouped into four areas:

  • Off The Tee - first shot on Par 4s and Par 5s
  • Approach - shots aimed at the green from distance
  • Around Green - short game shots near the green, not including putting
  • Putting - all putts

The Strokes Gained screen shows a bar chart across all four areas, a trend chart toggleable between Rounds and Game Areas views, and a Pars breakdown with Strokes Gained values for Par 3, Par 4, and Par 5 holes.

There's also a Clubs breakdown ranking every club by its Strokes Gained contribution, viewable per Shot or per Round.

Strokes Gained requires accurate distances to work properly. Make sure your tee and flag positions match where you're actually playing from.

Clubs

The Clubs section shows stats for every club in your bag based on your tracked rounds. The overview highlights your longest drive, most-used club, and most accurate club.

Tap any club to see:

  • Average and max distance
  • Accuracy percentage — how often the shot landed in the intended target area
  • A Dispersion chart plotting all your shots for that club, colour-coded by result (hit, miss, or penalty), with Spread and Off Center values to show your typical shot pattern
  • Strokes Gained for that club, per round

Filtering Your Stats

Most charts in the Performance section can be filtered by timeframe. Use the Rounds, Months, or Years toggle at the top of each chart to adjust the view. Some screens also offer a date range filter via the icon in the top right.
